The WVAL meeting on April 9 will be at the studio of JJ Priour, the sculptor who won our River Monument competition. He will show us his studio and let us know how he makes his wonderful sculptures and what inspires him. Works of his and those of his father, Damian, are on the grounds for our viewing enjoyment. We will also get an update on the Wimberley River Monument project. JJ’s River Pillars sculpture was chosen as the winner of the competition. Check out his website at priourstudio.com.

JJ would like for us to arrive early enough to see the outdoor art in the sunlight, so we will carpool from the Community Center at 5:15. Please be ready to go by that time. Steve Shellenberger will coordinate that activity. The studio is at 17120 Hamilton Pool Road in Dripping Springs, 78738. Go north on RR12 to Hamilton Pool Road, turn right and look for the yellow mailbox. We will walk around sculptures first at the house , which is the structure a little higher up the hill, then go down to the studio. We should be heading home around 7:30.
We look forward to sharing this special evening with you.
