Juror's Comments - Sep 2026
As always, I gained artistic inspiration from “judging” this exhibition. That is because
there were so many high-quality works entered. I put “judging” in quotes because I believe all art is worthy of attention and respect. All created works have some value. Whether chosen for the show or not chosen for it, teaches the artist something they need to learn.
I chose the works according to these criteria: The power of its content (what does it mean?), the execution of its technique (did the artist take it seriously?), and does the work give me something to contemplate or feel in my heart or mind?
Choosing the “award winners” was my hardest—and most subjective--task, because many qualitied for that. But I feel that all the artists who entered should be proud of their art, and can hopefully learn something from the experience.
My congratulations and encouragement to all the artists, and my thanks for the opportunity to experience the works.
