February Meeting – Monday, February 12, 6:30 p.m.
On February 12, we will host a very special evening with singer-songwriter Michael Hearne. In 2001, Hearne produced an album entitled “Sight and Sound” – a musical composition that used the work of a dozen northern New Mexico artists as inspiration. He has agreed to share the stories behind the art that inspired his music at our February meeting in Johnson Hall at the Community Center. Michael Hearne is nationally known and continues touring throughout Texas and the southwest, recently relocating to Kyle. Mark your calendars now for this one-of-a-kind evening!
Michael Hearne is a very accomplished musician who has lived in Texas, Nashville and New Mexico. While living in the Taos area of New Mexico, he and a friend came up with a concept that led them on an incredible journey where music meets fine art. They chose several works of art from local artists for the project, interviewed the artists and wrote a song about each piece. The result was a wonderful CD entitled Sight & Sound. Fortunately for us, Michael now lives in Kyle. On February 12, 2018, we will project images of the art so that Michael can tell us the story of what about them was inspirational and then he will sing the song written about it. Come join us for a very special evening of Sight and Sound. Donations are welcome.
